Air Conditioner shutting down when anchored.

George, Sounds like this may be the problem. What type of rig did you make? Sometimes I am at the dock before leaving for an hour or so. It is pretty hot here and we always seem to be waiting on someone to show up. Can you give me the details?

My boat is dry-stored and I usually turn the A/C on as soon as the the gen is running, and that's usually while at the marina before we leave.
Never had a problem due to restricted water flow. This is an interesting topic, I will do more research on that

Sorry, I just got your message. I have a short piece of garden hose with a quick connect on one end and also a ball type shutoff valve. That connects to the dock hose. I then access the unit under the v berth and pull off the top hose and put the other end of my rig where I removed the hose. I open the ball valve and force water back thru the unit. Works everytime. Just replace the hose and clamp when you are done. As long as the boat is in the water it should not loose prime. Seems like a lot to do but it becomes second nature after a while. If you do loose prime you may want to check the strainer gasket. Hope this helps. Some people have luck picking up the prime by running the boat on plane. Sometime it does and some times not. This works every time.

It's much easier to just close the seacock before they pull the boat out of the water and then re-open it once they drop it bakc in the water. My is lift kept and it works fine every time. Close it beofre they lift you out of the water then re-open once it's in the water. It will not lose prime this way.

I will check the strainer and screen but it sounds like I need to close the seacock before the boat is lifted out of the water. Thanks for all the suggestions and input.
