I have a marine aire system 16,000 btu with keypad. The system powersup and runs but dosnt get cold or hot,i can hear it switching over and the pump and compressor are running so i belive it has low refrigerant,R-12 of course. Can these be retrofit to r-134 with the same kit as an automobile?I have the guages and such for R-134 just wondered if it has been done on these units successfully.Glen

Ok good idea,i will look to see if i took a picture of the tag.Is R 22 available still?

Yep r-22,that means i will have to pay someone dosnt it.

Looks like i can buy a retrofit r22a kit with all the necessaries to retrofit and charge the system for 73 bucks.

Info on the kit?

You might want to check with an HVAC guy, but I don't think this will work. The oils used in the two refrigerants are incompatible. There would be some equipment changes necessary (possibly), and you'll lose cooling capacity changing to a different refrigerant.
