1996 Sundancer 330
Engines
Twin 7.4 Mercruiser V-drives
Sorry to bring this up again. I have done tons of research almost feel like theirs too much info on the topic. Need to know a few things
1. In 1996 was the 330 was affected by this issue. I have 7.4 Blue water MPI inboards (something to due to cam lapping for better fuel economy / underwater exhuast)
2. Also will the 3" spacers fix the problem? if this was a issue
3. i read that i need to put in plastic spacers in the exhaust tubes where can i buy these things did some googleing can't find anything plastic don't want to overheat the motor if its the wrong one
4. does the top of the riser needs to be 13" above water line true of false?

reason for all the questions is i did a re-power last year and when i put the boat in this year had stuck valves on the starboard motor port side (2 middles ones). Started measuring exhuast tube angles each motor outer tube had about 15 degrees of pitch but in the inner tubs only have about 5 degrees.

I purchased a 1998 330da last year. It had brand new factory crate motors that suffered stuck valves.
I just rebuilt both motors and now have 6" riser extensions. It had 4.7" and that wasn't enough.
I have no idea if my new engines will also suffer.
This boat got 400 hours on the original motors then 50 hours on the second set.
Currently the third set of new motors have 20 minutes.
I have learned a few things and would be happy to share info.
Feel free to call. I'm in Mount Sinai. Where are you?

Hi,
Not sure this helps. My boat had the conversion to can mufflers mounted on bilge floor. No water issues. I did see a picture of a set of exhaust manifolds that had a defect inside the unit itself. My exit tubes from the risers are lower than the dipstick tube on the engine. I can take more pictures if you can use them.

i put them in my tubes when repowering.
Not sure if they do anything but, I can't feel any performance difference.
Three years good so far....tho my model wasn't affected with water reversion problems.
