Has anyone installed an aftermarket swim platform (larger than stock) on a 1988 268 Sundancer?

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Chuck

the site I found a while back is www.swimplatforms.com the owner and founder used to be employed by Sea Ray in Phoenix for 15 years and now employees 5 people that worked for Sea Ray prior from what I seen he does good work check that out as well, It's the same site Quint4 posted already

Check E-Bay there is a company selling a more modest priced one for 6 to 700 they aren't nice as the ones at swimplatform.com, all depends on your budget. I will post the web site when I get home e-Bay is blocked here at work.

Wow hot women hanging on boats...thanks for the link!

I have a swimplatforms.com on the back of my 1988 268 and I love it compared to the stock one.

Just my .02 worth.

I found Swim Platforms, Inc. through a Google search. The stock platform on our '89 340 was a joke and absolutely useless. I sent Scott Samuelson a picture of my boat and asked for a quote and he wrote back with some interesting info....he was the original owner of my boat. He bought it when he was a Sea Ray employee.

Anyway we bought a platform and my wife and I feel it was the best investment we have made in our boat. Below are some pics:

Here is the old one coming off. 22" from transom to the rear edge.

Here are a few shots of the new one. It is 39" deep. It realy makes a huge difference.

Scott and his staff really understand service as well and they will make sure that you are happy with your purchase.

Excuse my ignorance but what are the cutouts in the platform? hand holds? I figure the center section is the ladder...

Primarily, I believe, those are relief holes to minimize hydraulic pressure buildup when water becomes trapped in the underside structure.

Yeah, that is my one beef with the integrated platform on my 260. It is a solid surface underneath that makes a nice smooth transtion into the transom. If a wave comes from astern while your are anchored, it will slam into the transom and bang on the bottom of the platform. It packs a loud thump and you can feel the upward pressure lifting the boat. I'm sure that the holes help.

I know of one boat where those holes spout like a wale from time to time. Kinda cool!

I think it's interesting how widely platforms vary in height from the water. Some are more or less in the water all the time, while others are more like a swim balcony. LOL

The cutouts are vents. We were anchored out one day last summer when a boat wnet by and left a wake. I looked over the stern to see how the vents worked. They worked well....I got soaked.
