Has anyone installed an aftermarket AC/heat unit on a1990's 290 Sundancer? Any difficulties? Where did you situate the unit?

Flagship rocks....EXCEPT..... if you are going to heat, it's straight electric, not reverse cycle. Something to consider if you are early or late season cruising with a gennie.

Thanks. SR dealer siad aftermarket install couldn't be done on a 290. IMHO, if it was offered as an option, there's got to be a way to do it aftermarket. Will check with Flagship.

That's crap can't be done. RIGHT! They told me that on my 268 to. I put a 9000 BTU in it and it worked fine. Let me tell you on the heat. It takes less power than the A/C to run. Plus it will heat you out !!! Never had a problem with it. The A/C unit on my 34 took a crap after I got it and I went back to Flagship and got a 16000 BTU instead of the 12000 that came from the factory. 6 years so far the only thing I had problems with was the thermostat. Instead of the marine one I would go to Home depot and get a $29 Honeywell. Works like a charm.

+1000

Pure nonsense. My 2465 Regal never offered AC as an option and I had a 10K unit installed. Worked like a champ.
