After Market Hydraulic Swim Platform

To add a hydralic lift the hull has to be able to support the weight, and from what I have read here and been told, 320/330 even a 340 will NOT support the weight. Hopefully some with a little more knowledge will chime in as well and give you more insight.

The boat almost has to be designed to support the weight. When you hang 800 lbs 4 ft behind the boat and support it off of whatever structure the transom provides, the moment on the attachment points is huge when you go boating in decent sea conditions.

When hydraulic lifts first became popular, Sea Ray instructed the dealers on specific bracing to add for additional support. I never saw one added to anything under 40 ft. and those boats had extra knees and bolt pads added to the top of the stringers and transom.

I have also seen a 400EC and a 440DA return after long cruises with their transoms literally peeled off the boat by hudraulic platforms added to boats that were not originally designed for the weight.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider it on a 330DA, but you probably should talk to the service manager at your dealer to see if it is a project they are willing to undertake. When you do, ask about the addition voiding your long term structural warranty.

We have a 450 da up here with a tnt on it, and when there is a pwc on the back of it looks like the boat is wot trying to get up on plane. I couldnt believe how much the boat comes out of the water with the weight of it at rest at the dock.

I talked to Sealift about putting a hydraulic swim platform on a 330, and they said no problem. They actually install them for Searay and Searay offers it as an option on a 330. The swim platform only ways 250 lbs. Here is a link.

My concern (as mentioned here) is what does that do to performance, etc. I have a RIB that weighs in at about 110 lbs and a 6HP 4 stroke that is another 60 lbs.

The convienience would be great, but the cost is so high. I've got rough estimates from 19K to 15.5K. That's bad enough, but spending that kind of money and then finding out that the boat can't really support it would be disasterous.

I've seen them on a 350 but never on a 330 (altough I would think that a 330 would actually work better as the engine size is the same but the hull weight is less).
