Aft bilge pump repair/replace

My aft bilge pump is not working, at least tested by lifting the float switch. The issue is not how to fix it, but accessibility. On my 1989 Aft Cabin boat, the bilge pump is so deep (about 6’) below the access hatch under the aft mattress, I’m not sure how to work on it. Is there a way, or is there a work-around?
