Ok, I will be the first to admit I am not the biggest fan of the tower on this boat. It is very high up, but I did not want to attach to the sides due to always knocking it on something or I am sure it would cause problems plus it would of had to be reinforced. It is i it's strongest part and it is apparently the first white MTk tower to be shipped to Australia.

Anyway you can see the photos, the yellow had major gelcoat cracking in it from a wave apparently. They matched the colour excellent and were they only place in the whole city of 4 million people who would do it without using two-pack paint.
They are giving it a great wet sand, buff, whatever it is called, and have had one guy working on that part for weeks.
Pulled the motor out and found that my dealer was a lying sack of syt and luckily the warranty paid for the $6000 worth of parts needed. I will not get into that because it was just too bad to talk about. Maybe i will share photos of what happens when bad risers and manifolds look like jam stuck in the exhaust. Lucky we pulled it when we did. Anyway easily $20k spent on making this boat pure awesome thanks to insurance company and warranty and to be honest, If i was going out to buy a 195 sport now, I would hate to know it had horror stories, but this is the boat I would want to buy. No expense sparred.
Cant wait for the brand new original coloured bucket seats to arrive thanks to LAZY DAZE.

Anyway I would like advice and opinions on if I should paint, and what paint, or powdercoat or something else to the windscreen?

I think with this polar white tower ($3300 with over top bimini in AUstralia) would make the boat look even better is the windscreen was white, like the newer models which have black windscreens.

Maybe i should of gone with stainless steel tower, but i liked the idea of a powdercoated tower.

Does anyone think I should go for a white windscreen and if so how should i get it done?

Check out the pics though, this boat has not yet been cleaned, just had its wet sand and buff and is soon to be cleaned and then waxed or polished or whatever it is they do. So it is looking pretty brand new for not even being washed yet and dust and compound all over it still.

Any thoughts?

(hmmm, the photos make the yellow look darker than it is. It really is bright before i resized them)

Sorry you have to go to link but i can not upload pics here

I think the white tower looks great! Nice work...and from the pics it does not look too tall. I would not paint the windscreen. I see where you're coming from in terms of matching it to the tower but then you have the chrome rub rail that will stick out in my opinion. Not to mention, you would need to remove the windscreen and glass in order to powder coat it -- any other type of paint will look bad. I personally think it looks great as-is.

+1. Looks fine like it is!

I would leave it alone. Looks fine and matches the rub rail insert. Not sure, but a white windshield frame may create a glare issue as well.

I agree would not paint windshield. It looks good like it is and taking it apart and back together would be a real PIA, plus if something gets broken you are going to have big trouble and $$ replacing windshield parts. What are you doing about the hull graphics? If it were me I would just replace the SeaRay badge and put on a black boot stripe. Boat and tower look great!

Thank you everyone for your replies and reassurance.
I will leave it as is.
As for graphics, I got the same kit because i was concerned the shadow of an old kit would remain but now I am rethinking that. The current ones are the tribal graphics, which I am not a big fan of, but i do have them brand new.
What I am considering is the SUPER SPORT graphics that come with the later 2011 models. The 'sport' which has the long lines coming off the word and down to the white part of the hull. Someone did me a mock up a whilke ago and i think it looks good in yellow, and seeing it was nto offered in the year 2011 in yellow, kind of original. But I would have to go with custom made and I think it would have a touch of blue added to it, or i would keep it charcoal white and black, maybe with some yellow. I was going for black carpet to go witht he yellow but think it will be too hot, so I think I have to go a charcoal colour as that looks great in the sport boats, better than lighter colours.. So black or dark charcoal graphics would look good as black goes with yellow well.

My mind is in a lot of places in regards to decals, and i also like the idea of just the sea ray emblem.

Im really keen to hear some ideas, but i love the super sport graphics, and love the two bars that go along the top part of the deck,.

See this photo for the logo i like, but colours i need to decide, maybe just black, grey and white. The bimini is grey, so it could look good.

So here is the original i like....

and someone here did that with the boat being yellow which was great.

This is the carpet i'd like to get close to but keeping with other colours as I do not want to use more than 3 colours. The way colours work is to have two contrasting colours and a background colour. Everything looks good like that, so I want to stick to that rule of mine.

Awesome carpet!

I am really open for ideas though.

I have not spared a cent on this. I got the great lakes skipper brand new mystic white bucket seats, and they turned up with a big black boot print in the middle of the backrest and a orange stain and lots of black dirt marks all over them, so after spending $1000 USD on buying and shipping those, I am stuck with them and Lazy Daze was awesome finding me the original bucket seats,m which is costing the same amount.

Then I also had a brand new glove box door from great lakes skipper, only to find the screw bent, which they blame on package but i dont need that, and today went to install it and find the screws for the hinges are munched to bits.
The gauges i purchased from them have scratches on each and every bezel, but Im going to use those as i like the new yellow and black in the gauge than the original black and white. I am GUTTED I purchased these items though. I took photos as I unpacked and all I got told was 200 other people were happy customers, which i replied 200 other seats probably did not have black rubber boot marks in the middle of the brand new WHITE upholstery. Anyway, I won't go on about it but I also made sure to document the opening and unpacking of such a expensive purchase so to find this stuff kind of made me feel like the guy on the other side of the world to off load the shyt stock to as it costs him $500 to return and then another $500 to gt replacement sent out. They could of instead made me happy by offering me the raised foam decal I am after,l but they want me to pay $200 for the full set for the single '195' decal. After what they sent me I would of thought that could of been a nice thing to od offered, but all i got was excuses and why they didnt send that stuff to me.
So tempted to upload photos but I also feel like I am out of line moaning as it is so I wont do that. Im just so annoyed when i think of how every step of the way with this boat i have been ripped off, until I met my new mechanic, my new gelcoat guy and especially forum member lazy Daze. Dennis and peters marine have made me super happy with original OEM brand new exact matching bucket seats and what is ever better is they sent photos of the two bits of damage to the seats. Dennis is going along way in his spare time, and in between his hectic time to really help me out from over here and this dude will be getting well reimbursed for his time. I mean Im paying all these people ripping me off a fortune, so why not hook him up.

I bought the boat and i was guaranteed it had brand new risers and manifolds and check out what we found by fliuke when i asked my mechanic to e there when we liuft the engine to recoat the bilge area.

YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU WILL SEE HERE> Thankfully the scumbag dealer gave me a warranty that held up[ and paid for everything other than $1200.

This is insane!!! (these photos will make you understand how i can write such a long post that goes from happy to bitchy in a second.....

(ZOOM IN ON THE EXHAUST AND ALSO WHATEVER THAT THING IS THAT TURNS EVERYTHING AT BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE)

OH NO as uploading i see i deleted the image i really want to share.... Imagine the other end of the rusted riser stuck into the exhaust outlet on the boat. Just jammed in there blocking it all up. It is so bad i have to take another photo on monday to show you. It is so bad
These photos give you an idea. Pretty cool for promise of being brand new and freshly serviced which was my mistake for not checking with survey but it came with nationalwide 2 year warranty. They did pay out, so that says alot about the warranty people, but they are not happy with the dealer who has since vanished from one of the largest dealerships around.

should be five photos here in a gallery type thing....

Read that monster post or skip to the last image link is so bad. Imagine the rest of that stuck in the exhaust. And i was getting 56mph at 4000rpm on this. I cant wait to see what i get now. Pretty sure the dial will now move between 4000 and 5000rpm instead of staying still at 56mph

Yeah, that riser is a mess - salt water will do that. Risers and manifolds are a 3-5yr maintenance item in salt water - at least need to inspect them, manifolds last longer than risers. Stay on top of them when they fail, salt water ends up in the engine which is usually terminal. FYI, freshwater is opposite, they usually last forever, my 1999 has the originals.

As far as the gray carpet, looks good, that is the way I would go, black would be hot. And for the graphics, I am old traditional type, so I really like the simplicity of just a boot strip, I think black would look great. If / when the graphics on my 185 get old and worn, I plan on going with just a boot stripe. Did I say I think a black boot strip would look great?
