I am now looking into purchasing a 330 sundancer 94-99 model since a recent deal fell through. I am looking for a general idea of problem areas to keep an eye on while inspecting these boats. Any advice would be appreciated.

DPMULVEY just put his 330 with a HARDTOP up for sale. You may want to PM him. That hard top is a rare option I have not seen on another model.

Well you ask a rather broad question so I will offer some advice in a broad sense:
My knowledge comes from owning my boat for 10 years and over 800 running hours. I have numerous friends with different variations of the 330.
Early 94 didn't have the reverse arch and a different hull from my understanding. This year brought some quick boats due to lighter weight.
Engine options: Go BIG or go home, meaning I suggest the 454's MPI if possible. The 350 doesn't seem to really power the boat that well.
Outdrives vs V drive: Do a search or read the 330 Forum on this option. You will get soooo many opinions your head will spin! Personally, I boat fresh water and lover the performance from the Bravo IIIs. Yes, they have their issues, but all in all I like the efficiency, speed and maneuverability. If I were boating in Salt water then it is no question that I would have the v-drives.
Weak spots? I can't really think of any off hand. This is one boat that Sea Ray "Got right".

I hope you find the boat of your dreams. These are fantastic vessels and I hope it brings you years of enjoyment! Feel free to PM me with any particular questions.... :)

Probably the biggest issue to look for is the integrity of the cabin roof. The hull is solid fiberglass, but the cabin roof has a balsa wood core. If water penetrates between the layers of fiberglass it will rot the wood. Sure signs of a rotting core are brownish streaks on the cabin roof and walls.

thanks for advice & replies guys. It was a wide open question & I appreciate the feedback. I just put a contract on one yesterday & pending a survey I believe a got a real deal. will post some pics once I have & I am sure there will be more questions to follow once I get into her. thanks again!
