Hey guys, boating season over and i winterized my boat and i plan to work on some projects over the winter. there is one thing that really, really bother me.. maybe not to other but to me, it is.. the previous owner that i bought in 2006 has red bottom paint and every spring i paint it brown and every fall when i pulled out, i would see some red paint..

so this winter i am considering strip it off and next spring i will paint brown anti-fouling paint.

how do i should do? powerwashing?? soda blasting?? what your recommendation? any advices/opinions are welcome.. thanks!

Soda blast. Fill voids. Bottom paint system appropriate for you local water conditions.

I wet sand blasted my last two boats,a 26 ft bayliner and a 40 silverton convertible, lots of work because the bottoms "looked"ugly.Ended up with no voids to fill except a scratch on the bayliner from something that flew up off the road when towing.Layed down three coats of pettit epoxy on each then two coats of hydrocoat.the bayliner still looks like it did three seasons ago when i did it,not sure about the silverton ,the ex got it and im not asking.

after reading this, maybe it's for the best if i left it alone. like the previous poster said, if i see red, touch it up.. don't need headaches if i got blister or something.. Thanks guys.
