Hello! I hope everybody had a wonderful weekend!

Somebody have experience adding a fuel tank to a searay boats? Actually We want to install it on a 40 sundancer '08 (diesel). How to put it and where? any ideas?? thanks :smt115

A friend who long range cruises a 44DA just did this. He added a custom aluminum tank between the stringers next to the transom. There was substantial plumbing required since he pumps the fuel into his regular tanks rather than adding another fuel manifold for the added tank.

Be sure you need the added capacity............the cost was about $8K.

There was a 450 Sundancer for sale out of Florida for quite awhile a year or two ago and one of the customizations was the additional 200(gal?) capacity he added under the floor in the salon/galley area.

I would think that you better know what you are doing. The addition of another tank will change the trim of your boat and as such the way it acts in the water. You will need to keep it low in the boat. Better get someone who knows what they are doing to do the job, otherwise you will detract value from your boat.

Thanks everybody for the answers!! it was an idea to have it only when needed. Having a tank as storage sending diesel to my regular tank. i will continue studding about this idea i will keep you guys informed :smt038
