Just purchase a teak table from Defender. Would like to use the pole mount from my previous table. Should I use some kind of adhesive along with screws? Was thinking 5200 possibly? Or should I just screw it on dry.

If you use 5200 and ever want to change it, you will not be able to. I drilled mine and used brass inserts with SS machine screws. No adhesive is necessary.

Do the inserts just get tapped into the wood?

Screw it onto the mount because:
Table tops expand and contract from both heat and humidity. Screwed attachments allow the top to move.
If you need to refinish, a table top without a mount is easier set up on a bench and work on.

All the tables I've made have been fine with just screws . Just predrill holes and use a good course Stainless wood screw.
