I have a 2007 210 select with the rear bench layout. Right now my boat is an hour away in storage and I am wondering how big of subwoofer I can fit in the fiberglass in front of the rear bench. I want to put in a JL Audio 10" sub but don't know if it will fit. If any one has a 210 handy to measure the rear seat it would be greatly appreciated, or if some one has any advice for upgrading the audio system I would love to hear it. Thanks:thumbsup:

I fit a 12" sub on my 220 SD rear bench area. I would guess that you could easily fit a 10" in your boat.

When I installed mine, I used a roto-zip with the compass attachment. Made a perfect hole.

Could you post a picture of your install? Also, what sub did you go with?

Thanks!

Paul

I can't post it until spring as my boat is all cozy in her shrink wrap!

I went with a Kenwood 12" + 200W amp. Got it off Etronics.com

It is a couple of years old now, so I am sure they no longer have that model.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Make sure you go with an infinite baffle subwoofer…. That is unless you plan on building a custom enclosure for it. The JL version is M101B5.

Definitely going with the infinite baffle JL sub I also plan to replace all four cockpit speakers with the JL 6.5s. Next I have to decide on going with two seperate amps or Kicker makes a 5 channel amp that would work. Can't wait to get the boat out and get started

I see the 220 sundecks rear seat looks a little different then the selects. The selects have recessed areas withe nets attached, I want to put the sub into one of the recessed areas if possible.

how many batteries do you have in the boat? If only 1 you might want to put another one for some insurance that it will start after jammin at the beach for a while

I Have 2 Batteries with a selector switch where I can select between battery 1, battery 2, or both.

something u should have. two batterys. i mean when your chilling out at your favorite spot with your music cranking. Then you go to go home and the batteryies dead. that will never happened with two.

As long as you remember to keep both batteries charged!

See this link for my install (scroll down to post #50). It is different than the route your going as far as sub placement, but it may give you some ideas to consider. I have a combiner for keeping both batter banks charged... no switches, nothing to forget. As long as the boat is running, both banks get charged. If the boat is off, only the dedicated stereo batteries drain. I've drained them several times and had nary a problem starting the motor.

I went with a 5 channel amp for the main speakers and sub. It was the cheaper option once you consider having to get wiring for two amps, etc. The second amp in my pics is for the tower speakers.

I've had this system installed for several years now and have been very pleased. I'll do it all again when I get a new boat!
