Looking at nice 2000 270 Sea Ray but it does not have heat and air and was wondering what the expense was to add that or if it was possible.

Would like A/C for the dogs when we dock and heat maybe to extend the mn boating season a little :)

The 16000 btu unit was $1,200 but that wasn't a kit, just the unit. I installed a new water pump as well. My boat had an A/C before so the plumbing, electrical and ducting was there already. If you are having a complete system done this will cost A LOT. You may consider a portable heater and portable A/C as you may be into this for $5K or more.

Thanks for info I appreciate.

That would be an expensive add...

We are looking at two 2000 270's one does not have heat and air but only has 240 hours the other has everything but has 750 hours and is $10,000 more...

I like the idear of the Hatch unit but the wife tends to be a little Claustrophobic. I was thinking of the portible units. http://www.air-n-water.com/photos/4412-2b.jpg
I could put it in the mid-cabin (Bungy cords) duct it to the small window ( exhaust) there and run the condensate line / pump to the sink. There is usually just the two of use over night so its just a storage area anyway. JG

I was in the same situation a couple of years ago when I was shopping.
Dealer quoted me 9,000 for the factory setup.

We wanted to add one to our 260 and decided that it might be better to buy a different boat with the heat/AC and a couple of other options that we found that we needed.
