I'm looking for some :smt100. I would like to add a GFI outlet under the helm next to the breaker box. I am hoping to purchase another rocker switch for the "accessory opening" that is not used on the main switch panel in the cabin. This way I can "control" it with switch the same as the other 120v devices. This will be to run a TV that I have installed on the wall where the factory TV would normally go. Thoughts on this? Bad idea or good? Has anyone done this? Thanks as always!

So you are planning to drill through to the helm from behind the cabin TV to plug in a replacement TV you are hanging in the cabin? Not sure I understand why you are not using the electrical supply for the factory TV-- or do you not have a factory TV there already? Sorry, just trying to get a better idea of your intent and plan.

Hi Jason,

Sorry, I should have mentioned, this is a new install. No factory TV unfortunately. :( Thanks!

OK, I see. I know sferguson recently replaced that TV on his boat because the factory version was not HD capable. He may be able to share some tips for the TV install and for how the power is routed up there for the factory unit. Personally, I would try to avoid, if at all possible, any additional penetration from the cabin to the cockpit area.

Remove the 4 screws on your main DC panel (in the cabin) and tilt it forward. On my '06, there is a 110vac outlet already installed. I think this feeds the galvanic isolator(s) but it also where my original tv got power.
