Just heard that there was an active shooter at a local Wal Mart. Heard they were bringing in life flight to transport 1 person. Police and search dogs looking for suspect near Penn State Beaver campus. There is a movie theater in the same plaza where police arrested a guy about 6 or 7 years ago that went in carrying a duffel bag of guns. Police always work that theater on weekends and when the guy saw the police he ducked into the bathroom and the cop arrested him. The guy had bought a ticket to see The Purge.
Not sure if there were any other injuries but so far heard there were 'only' 3 shots fired.
We don't frequent that Wal Mart much but do go to that theater alot. Our marina is about 1/2 mile from there
People are idiots

Pretty weird isn’t it, making plans to go see a movie, then having to decide if it’s worth the risk of being shot, and ultimately maimed or killed. The polarizing effect in peoples’s minds causing such violent acts is very troubling.

Why do the crazies flock to Walmart?

Easy reach items?

So here is what the news is saying. 2 men shot at each other in the parking lot saying it was drug related. One suspect took off and a bystander went to help the victim on the ground. The police got there and told the bystander to get away. He told police he was trying to help the guy. A police officer pushed the bystander who fell and hit his head and died from the head injuries. State police are now investigating. Bad situation got worse. I'm pro police and not judging as I don't know all of the details but not looking good for that police officer. Apparently there were several witnesses and Wal Mart cameras in the parking lot that caught it. I think the one suspect died from the gunshot too but not sure.

Do ya think there's bit of frustration on the part of the cops of the whole scenario they face these days and it's bubbling over?

Keep us posted on this, will you please?

Will do. They just talked about it on the local news.
I left law enforcement in 2010 and glad I'm not still in. Loved it but it's a losing battle now. My step-son has been on since 2009 and he can't wait to get out. He recently got a degree in IT so hoping he can make a career change soon.

Sounding like the officer was off duty when this happened. News says he started yelling to the bystanders wife that he was a police officer. Not sure if this was before or after he pushed the guy but would have to assume it was after. Had he announced it before that I would think the bystander may have responded differently but who knows

Local news reports saying there have been discipline issues with this officer in the past but think that came from the families attorney so not very neutral source. Haven't heard much else
