Hello, I purchased a new 240 da in Febuary. Once it warmed up and was able to start using the boat over the weekend I discoverd the sump pump blows water into the bilge and floods the cabin.

Is their a way to remove the step that covers the box that catches the water? I can only get one hand through the trash can opening ? Thanks for your help

MarinMax wants to charge me $400 to fix a brand new boat that was deliverd defective
:wow: Shouldn't the boat still be fully covered under the warranty? In that estimate, does that include replacement of parts? It may be an indication of the hours needed to reach the pump box.

That charge is for drivetime only $100 each way. First trip, diagnose, second trip for repair. Sounds silly to me cause the pump works fine. it's either a bad connection or a cracked holding box.

If you are not leaving the boat with them, I can understand the drive time charge.

Assuming the step is simmilar to the 280 setup, you best bet is to tape it open and try to work trough the opening. Removing the step will not give you 2 hand access.

Is it leaking during the sump pump out? Is there standing water in the sump box?

I'm about 80% sure it only leaks during the pump cycle This is why I really think its simply a bad connection. Yes the box has about a 1/4 inch or less of standing water.
I understand the drive charge I just wish that would have been mentioned while we dicussed service when I bought the boat.

If this was a manufacturing defect, they should wave the drive time fee, IMHO!
