I'm adding some additional electronics to my 280 Sundancer. It appears the starboard wall in the aft cabin is removable which might allow access to the wiring between the engine room in front of the gen set and the helm station wiring also on the starboard side of the boat. Problem is, this access panel does not seem to want to come out. Any one know of a special "trick" to remove it?
The panel has a locking strip across the bottom with three screws in it. I've removed that strip but it still seems there is something else holding it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the board.

Couple of things you need to do: :smt024

First 280's have changed over the years so you need to be a lot more specific with your question by having the information in your signature that allows someone with a simular boat offer you good feed back.

In additon take time to go to "Who's Who" and introduce yourself.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's a 2002 280DA Sundancer with twin 4.3 MPI's and Alpha drives. It has a Kohler 5kw gen, a/c, windless and most everything else they could throw at it. We've only had the boat for a couple of months and I'm adding a Humminbird 787Ci to the electronics for a GPS/Sonar conbination unit. I've already installed a quad band "inside the hull" transducer and all works fine. Now I'm looking for the best way to route the wires to the helm station from the engine room. When I get the wires behind the current gauges, I'll come up with the appropriate mounting setup on or near the dash.

That's great. There are a number of 280 owners around the board. I am sure one will see and give you a heads up.
