AC keeps shutting down showing "PS" high pressure code. Had an AC shop out to diagnose and they thought it
was lime scale deposits hampering cooling and ran an acid purge thru the unit. It worked perfectly for a week
and now the same issue. Strainer is perfectly clean and when running it pumps a a strong stream of water.
Any thoughts?

Check/clean HP sensor connections, check/ clean return filter, check/ clean condenser...

That is all I have.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff. Did check return filter but will check others that you mentioned.

Jim,

Didn't notice you are in Ormond.
Have you ever gone to Silver Glen?
I'll be there this weekend with some friends from Ormond.
You should check it out if you've never been there.

Jeff

I haven't been there Jeff - do know where it is from frequent motorcycle rides out that way. Will have to
check it out.

Thx, Jim

I have the same issue with mine, I was going to try the acid purge when i get a chance. but really dumb question.
How do i get to the unit? I have a 03 240 i am assuming it is in the cuddy under the captain seat but I dont see any way to get into the compartment, are there hidden screws of a magic way to get the panel open to inspect the unit?

On my 260 it is on the starboard wall at the end of the mid cabin. Mine has a door (like in the galley) that opens right to the unit. To the right of this is the intake air filter for the unit. The marine service I used was able to do the acid flush of the unit thru that door opening.

Since the boat is new to me and sat for at least the last two years and every line had to have CLR ran through it to clear it out. I may try it myself from the sea strainer all the way to the thru hull. Still have to figure out the closed loop setup at the thru hull

Last week the A/C guy was out and thought the raw water pump was running a little hot, which if it got too hot would also shut the system down. So he took the pump apart and blew out the very small tubes (1/4 inch, 3/16 at the most) that were restricted. Reinstalled pump and the system has been running fine ever since. If the system shuts down again due to high pressure, the only other thing it could be is a defective high pressure switch. Hope its not that, as the starboard wall in the mid-cabin would have to be removed.:smt017
