The forward Cruiseair unit under the forward berth of my 380 is not producing either cold or heat, just fresh air. Everything seems to be working OK and the water is running through.
Someone told me that it could be some valve that is not working.
Please advise.
Thank you.

I have the book for them here, first tell me what it is doing. The fan blows, but what happens when you switch to A/c or heat. Is the compressor coming on?

With the unit off what is the AMP draw on your elecric panel with the unit on what is your amp draw. Switch between heat and cool and let us know what the AMPs are.

Thanks for your responses.
The compessor comes on, the fan works and the water goes through but the heat does not come on. The aft AC unit is working fine.
I will go to the boat in the next couple of days and measure the amps.

To answer your question I just went to the boat and measured the ams. For the unit working fine it was 10 AMS and for the unit without heat it was 5 AMS.
I hope that those numbers tell you something.
Thanks

Has the unit been charged. If it is low on refrigerant it will not heat or cool. Sounds like its time to call a pro.

Couple things - an a/c system never needs to be recharged unless there is a leak. A compressor drawing less then it's FLA could indicate that it is not pumping (internal valves are bad). The blowers on these units probabaly draw less then an amp while running. To confirm this, hook up gauges to both the suction and discharge while the compressor is running, if the valves are bad the pressures will be just about the same, around 120 psi. It is possible the system is out of refrigerant and the compressor is running, suction pressure would be in a vacuum.

I agree, call an hvac guy at this point
