AC needed in Puget Sound on a 240DA?

Ok, so more on your questions -1) good question - NOAA? does operate a 24 hour weather for entire west coast from Mexico to Alaska. In Puget sound your VHF has a "weather channel" that picks up and reports all Puget Sound. USE IT. I check typically a day or two in advance up through the travel itself. In fact I have two Hand held VHFs to go with the on-board and keep 1 of the handhelds fully charged in my house just to listen to weather from time to time. Beats the KOMO news guys for specific areas. PAY attention to "Small craft advisory" as you will be a small craft. 2) hmmm, when to stay in port - I used to be (now I am older and scare easier as I have had a few mishaps -Swinomish channel no engine power for example) more fearless. Now I would say if its steady 15 knot with minimum 2 footers, I sort of stay put. Your 260 can handle more but passengers start to get nervous. Again, practice around in south Puget Sound, you pick it up where you choke level sits. Regarding 3) yes, there are apps. I dont recall all of them but others may chime in. I am older school. Use the VHF, GPS, and charts and cell phone to call/schedule dock moorage. However, Apps with a Macbook are in fact pretty handy, yes. Regarding 4) I am up north (Everett area and so dont know anyone). Check with the Searay Dealer there in Fife or on the forum here under Northwest groups. 5) Yes, Bill collector is correct. Propane burning produces Carbon Monoxide that's an asphyxiant. However, I think those Buddy heaters are very efficient and dont produce enough to be toxic in confined spaces. Just keep an eye on them. and DONT buy any old propane burner, because they will kill in a confined space. Do your research here.

Yea I've looked into those. The math still doesn't work, at least for me. A full charge based on the rated capacity will consume ~20 Ah from your house bank and give you only 4 - 5 hours with a capacity just enough to cool a hot fart.
That built in battery does give you a 4 hour "head-start", but after that you are back to relying on your house bank or generator.
