hello, I read these forums when I have issue's and wanted to reciprocate a problem that threw me for a little loop. 96 370

Problem was the 2 Cruisair ac's kept tripping on lo ac, fault is low voltage. They would only trip while on the westerbeke generator. I assumed since it ran on shore power fine that it must be capacitor/diode in the genset.

Took voltmeter, amp probe and noted with 2 ac"s and microwave running they were pulling a total of 30amps or 10 amps per device at 110vac. voltage at no load was 120v/60 htz.

Westerbeke manual spec is 5% of 120 vac full load of 58 amps. So it is out of spec and probably requires a little more diagnostics. However, the Cruisair AC manual spec is LO AC = 100 vac for 3 minutes to fault. I was above this threshold and found that the Cruisair processor has a volt meter adjustment where voltage can be calibrated. With both AC's on the fluke meter was reading 110vac at 20 amps. Went in menu of AC's and found on board volt reading were at 100 and 103 vac setting at the time. set to 110 vac to match the meter and problem was solved.

Thanks to all you that help others with their hard earned knowledge and perhaps this info will help someone in the future.

Since I had a pm about this, I would add do not make this adjustment to compensate for a true low vac problem from the westerbeke. carryon
