After four weeks of sitting around binge watching past TV series and catching up on F1 series thanks to the F1 TV App after my by-pass surgery, I decided that it was time to go to the boat for the weekend. Docs orders were to not drive for 6 weeks but that was just too long for my independent core to wait.
Best medicine I could take! I have never been inclined to depression and all the literature they have you read about post open heart surgery recovery goes on and on about what to do and how you will feel blah blah blah. I'll say that after ten minutes behind the wheel and by the time I got to the boat, I just seemed to be standing taller and sitting up straighter and over all feeling like my old self. The wife is keeping me on a short leash in terms of doing some heavier much needed chores around the boat but a few more weeks and I'll take care of those.
We even took the dink out for a nice run up and down the shoreline and got a nice little base tan started.
Life is good!

I know I don't get there often enough
But God knows I surely try
It's a magic kind of medicine
That no doctor could prescribe

I hear ya.
This year has been very hit and miss for us at the lake because of work or kids. By now we usually have about 80 to 90 days in on the boat. This year we only have 45 days on the boat and it is driving me crazy.
We are heading this week for four days and then I will be back on the 31st for a week and I will be by myself and just being in slip just doing little things to the boat each day and I am so looking forward to doing that. For me being on the boat is just good therapy doing little projects and shooting the shit with others on the dock.

I agree 1000%. I really miss having a boat to hang out on and putter around on. It's just about driving me nuts. So you guys get your boat therapy as much as you can.

Glad to see you are "back in the saddle". I was only restricted from lifting more than 5 pounds for a week and that drove me nuts. I hate having to have people doing things for me when I am perfectly capable. But my kids, wife, friends and nieces kept an eagle eye on me and jumped in every time it looked like I might violate the rule. ;)

It is actually great to have support and people who care but man does it get old being told not to do that or asked are you sure you should …? The next few weeks will go fast and all will be back to normal though, I keep telling myself:)

Glad you could finally get the top notch therapy needed to move your recovery along!
Speedy recovery!
