A Special Weekend, a Special Company, and a Very Special Little Boy

A very heartwarming story Frank. Glad to hear the little fellow is doing well. I have seen too many children pass well before their time is due and never gets any easier.

This story also makes me even more proud to be a Sea Ray owner than I was before! Kudos to Sea Ray for a job well done!

Thanks for the post Frank. Doing something for others is part of the Christmas spirit and the folks at Sea Ray have done that job very well. My hat is off to the Sea Ray organization. You, too, Cap'n Rusty.

I have had, what I previously thought, was a pretty crappy day and was not in a good mood. Then I read this post and realize that I should be a LOT more thankful for everything we are blessed with. I wish the best to this little guy and his family. Merry Christmas everyone

Being a cancer surviver myself (16 years ago) I wish him a long and healthy life! Way to go Sea Ray!
Thank's for posting this Frank!

What a great story, thanks for passing it along Frank. All the best for Ben and his family, and continued success with his battle going forward.

Thumbs up to Sea Ray, It's great to hear of things like this from the folks building our boats, further proof they enjoy taking what they do to another level.

Good job to all! Everyone I know has been touched by the tragedy of cancer. We all have a family cancer story of some kind, and it's easy to forget how short this life is we live. Makes us all stop and think about what's important. Again, great story....and, Merry Christmas!

Don

Way to ring in the Christmas Spirit Frank. Thanks to Sea Ray for their wonderful gesture of love and compassion. God bless Ben and his family.

Great post Frank thanks so much for sharing! My prayers to Ben and his family while they navigate the last steps of recovery. Thank you folks at Sea Ray for your kindness and generosity. I am sure Ben's parents had as much fun as Ben did!

In these times, when we are seeing unprecedented greed in the world....what a great story of how a company can choose to make a difference. Thanks for letting us know Frank

Thank you for this beautiful post Frank. I had a bad day at work, the Admiral is late getting home and I was generally a bit grumpy so I opened up CSR for relief. I read this post first and I am very happy that I did. What a heart warming story and how great is it that the company who's boats we all love takes care of giving a child wonderful dreams without making a commercial out of it.

Kudos to Sea Ray and Kudos to you Frank.

Uplifting post for certain. Thanks to Sea Ray, Frank, and Rusty, all are class acts. God bless the Byers family and strengthen Benjamin as he grows. MM

Frank

Thanks for posting this. The generosity and compassion displayed by Sea Ray towards Benjamin and the Byer's family are indeed something that you don't see everyday in the business world and they deserve a big thanks for doing this.

Dave

That must have been a special day for everyone in that family.

What a nice gesture.

Wow, Frank thanks for posting that. It is so refreshing to hear some good things!! What an awesome thing for the folks at Sea Ray to do...

Many thanks to Sea Ray and all whom made this special day, trip, event possible. God Bless America and all those special people out there whom put extra effort on the line for those less fortunate.

Frank, Thanks for posting and letting us know such another up lifting story.

Merry Christmas to all and may you each have safe travels during these busy Holiday travels.

Good morning members everywhere, ‘Tis the last week before Christmas and with the conclusion of this year, I wanted to thank everyone for their support of our products and services. We all have been through a treacherous path this past year with the economic climate both domestically, and even more scary, aboard. Many uncertainties abound in our lives and prudence may have many of us holding on to every penny and soda cracker we can. But then there is the group of people that in the eye of the potential storm that say with great confidence, while passing out crackers and sharing dimes, “we’re just gonna have fun!” I can turn on this computer and the home page reads of war, crime and the inhumanities of people but with just a toggle of two fingers, I am now reading about “four screaming kids, two stupid dogs and one angry wife”…man, that is like poetry to my ears!

As you have learned and obviously recognize that we at Sea Ray boats do appreciate the value of such a great group of people that some would call a consumer base. We prefer to refer to you as family and we do so with intentions. We intend on making you know the difference in owning just a boat or owning a Sea Ray boat. We intend on maintaining our world class customer service as the manufacturer, which translates to you owning a product that a company person would enjoy talking to you about. This folks is all in addition to the great service and relationships you already have at your own Sea Ray dealer or marina.

Before our Yacht Expo event, I entered a post saying that CSR would certainly be represented at The Show and to expect a full report. Well, with CSR ADMIN approval, we had to beg for FWEBSTER to attend and then had to drag him onto each and every boat he reviewed….. (Frank, wonder how many will believe that story. Your log book probably has more 610 stick time that weekend than mine does!) You all have now read his reporting in the three great articles he wrote, with photos. Frank did us all justice by writing from a consumer’s perspective as opposed to factory guy like myself. I would have had so much politically correct stuff in there; you would have been snoring by now. Mr. Webster told like it is and we all appreciate it. Personally I don’t say anything to Sales guys as it makes for a better day watching wing-tips come off and on a hundred times. Mr. Webster was also a huge help in another endeavor we wanted to do that weekend and due to him being in the (as he says it) results business, we were able to contact the Byers family through CSR….which is why I choose to place this post in this thread, where it means the most.

Okay, there is your morning read and once again, thanks for all your support and excitement. Expo was a big success which we all hope is a sign that things are loosening up and getting back on the water is happening once again! I can speak for all of us employees of Sea Ray/Meridian boats by saying that having Master Benjamin, his brother Brody and the entire Byers’ family was far more rewarding for us than it could possibly ever be for that 110% little boy. I hope I can grow up one day to be like Benjamin. And thank you again Frank for helping everyone see what you and I experienced that weekend. Had great time and hope we get to spend some more of it together soon.

On behalf of Mr. Rob Parmentier, President of the Sea Ray Group and all of us employees, thank you all for knowing the difference when it comes to boats……..Because it isn’t just about the boat!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a tight bilge tonight!

Hope to see you on the water in the prosperous New Year,

Capt. Rusty Higgins
