Alaskans For Global Warming! Motto: Turn Alaska back into the tropical paradise it once was!

Sorry folks, but the highs that have been parking themselves off the PNW (thus giving you all snow from Canada east of the Rockies) has given us some great weather in the PNW and Alaska. No to very little snow in Anchorage. Spring is coming! Hang on it won’t be long.

It's been nice here too,,,, well above freezing on most days. I've been noticing the Harleys on the road in the past few weeks. That's pushin' it a bit for me but the roads are dry and there's not a lot of sand and winter residue on them. It's really too bad that the weather records don't go back thousands of years because, as stated above, it is probably a cyclical thing. We've seen pictures of our lake being frozen completely over and cars being driven on it in the 40's and 50's. Now it rarely freezes more than a few feet out for a few days. But then, when we first moved here, I remember some of the old timers saying that it rarely even snows here. Hmmm, go figure eh? We'll enjoy it while it lasts or while WE last, whichever comes first. So sorry to see the eastern part of the continent suffering so much with the cold and precipitation. A friend of ours moved out to the east coast last year and all we've heard is how lousy the winter has been. Some of the pictures are almost impossible to believe,,,, like snow up to the stop signs !!!!!! Only ever see that on the ski hills around here.

Tom, are you saying that weather forecast is for where you are in OR or where you want to be in AK?

Yeah, ask the people in the eastern half of the US how they feel about global warming....errrr.....Climate Change.

Even the weatherman on TV today quipped "Where's Al Gore when you need him?"

Our weather doesn't suck this weekend!

Our weather here doesn't suck too bad, either! This weekend I'll be the fire boat captain all weekend patrolling for Floatopia at Peanut Island. Should be a good time.

Yes, but just when it starts getting nice around here it is hotter than hell around there...

All a matter of opinion and personal preference. We honeymooned and vacationed here many times in the summer before we moved here. Since we've moved, we look forward to summer during the winter similar to what we did up north....just not nearly as miserable! We both prefer the summer here. Love the heat, less traffic and snowbirds, no school busses, water is warmer (although it's still mid 70's!). For many reasons, we love the summer here.

And this will be my office this weekend. :)

Shaun, watch for a 26 ft S-2 with Michigan reg on it,my sister and her hubby are down there on vacation.Last i heard(facebook) they were at Key West marina but that was 4 days ago.I think they park the truck and trailer in Miami and they are always up for a good party.
