As many of you saw in my Post for a trip with my Brother and Dad -"A Sailor's last voyage". My brother took my Dad home and I headed home after we were done and picked up the kids and Admiral. We continued north of where we live, trailering the boat to the Swinomish slough near Anacortes. We were going to go to Sucia Island state park but the forcast called for freezing overnight temps so we headed to Friday harbor for power and heat.

We got there about an hour before dusk and went up to "Dos Diablos" for some pretty decent Mexican food.
We headed out early yesteday morning and it seemed like we were the only ones on the water, crystal clear skies the only issue was it was cold. I had frost on the docks when we left.
Anyway for $33 moorage fee we had power and pool amenities at Poet's cove resort. Plus those were Canadian rates. A great deal.

The return trip this morning was perfect. Absolutely no wind hardly and no line at customs.

Thanks Guys. We'll be heading back up to Vancouver in a couple of weeks. Can't wait and hope we get weather like we had this last weekend.
Another shot of Mt. Baker in Northern Washington.

Thanks Corey,

Chris if you haven't been there, you should go. It has all the mellow marina life plus a Spa for the Mrs. if she's in need.

Really inspired by your pictures also to get further North. have not made it over the border yet in our 290DA in last two years, but lots of weekend in the islands and the sound .

Todd,

Thanks for the latest pictures. You sure do get in a lot of boating up there. I imagine that you are happy with the new boat. Has your boating changed much since you got the cruiser?

Hi Ron
Yes we have more places to stuff things to bring along.

Seriously, with the little things like water, a head that's not a port~o~potty under the Vberth Cushion like the last boat, tables, Microwave, fridge and simply more space we've been more comfortable and have been out a few more times overnight on the 260DA than the 230OV. I'm very happy with it. The fuel burn is not that much more than the 230OV either, so that's been a pleasant surprise. We had heat on the 230 which made it comfortable to run while underway, but with the camper canvas on this one v. the slant back on the 230 we've got a lot more cockpit space.

Overall, it's been a great upgrade.

I've got a couple to add to Todd's Canadian photos....

How far north are you heading Todd?

We are going to be in and around the Sunshine coast, Desolation sound, and Comox from July 20 to August 8.
