Well, as I knew it would eventually, I am now a one boat owner with the completion of the sale of my 1983 270 Sundancer.
I am sure part of the reason that it took so long to sell is the fact that the extreme high water conditions and flooding that is going on in our area has cooled the interest of most people who are considering a boat purchase.
It is funny how it works out though. I put posters up, I placed an ad online (bumping it up to the front page at least once a week), I offered incentives such as delivery, free moorage for the season, etc. I moved the boat to a highly visible location on a very busy route in order to increase exposure. Nibbles but no bites.
Last weekend while at the club working on the water system of my 350 Sundancer a couple walks up, asks about the boat parked next to me, we talk, I show it to them, we talk some more, he puts deposit down, next day pays the balance.
As he was leaving, I asked him how he found the boat, ad, internet search, what? He said he had been at the club 2 years ago looking for a boat and had been thinking about it ever since. He said he and his wife were driving down the road, he said that he suggested to her that they should seriously begin looking for a boat. They both liked our club so they decided to check if there was any for sale there. They pulled in and spotted Someday Lady II and her For Sale sign while turning around.
Then they bought it.
Like I said, its funny how it works out sometimes.
