Just wanted to post some information about a tool I think every boat owner should have. I bought one of these last weekend and was finally able to locate a raw water hose leak that has puzzeled me for a couple months. It was $149 and works great. It is a little tricky to get started with but after practice, I can see all around the engine and transom assembly. It has better resolution than I thought it would. It is available at Harbor Freight.

Interesting piece. I'm looking forward to the day when thermal imaging cameras become reasonably priced.

The latest sale flyer has them listed at $99.99. Sale ends 2/28.

Totally agree. I bought one earlier in the year at the $99 price. Comes in handy in the house, cars, boats...

trust me snap on wants about $350 for these.this is affordable.

Thanks for the great tip. Just bought one on ebay - 94.99 with shipping included.

I have the Milwaukee branded version. Got it diagnose a plumbing problem at home, but knew it had boat written all over it when I got a year ago. Have already used it a couple of times on the boat.

Burwell,
Thanks for the heads up. I have been looking for something like this. I didn't know they existed at that kind of price. Mines on order.

I had to look in my stringers as I thought I had a problem. I just got my scope and it is an awesome tool. Clearity is really good and scope is very easy to use.

Will it fit inside of a spark plug hole? Just wondering if you could use it to look at pistons and valves.

What is the viewing range of the lens? ie Does it only see things within a few inches from the end of the lens?

Harbor Freight has a 20% off coupon on their web site, and they let me use in on the camera at the sale price, so I got it for $80.

Are you asking if it will capture the full scene in the ladies locker room at the Y?

The thought crossed my mind, have you tried it? Don't answer that!

I was looking for how close do you need to put the lens infront of the object before it comes into focus. I'd like to use it for reading model codes from name plates that are hidden on machinery. It is a challenge trying to read it from a mirror...especially the 5, always looks like an S to me.

The B always looks like an 8 to me

Reminds me of what some of my friends use for their procedures. (They're GI doctors.)

Just pay attention to the Harbor Freight website, everything they have goes on and off sale all of the time. It may take a couple months, but it will go back on sale.

CSR probably caused a demand spike, raise the price! Either that or they depleated inventory and the replacement cost will be higher.
