Ok, only to add to the stress of being a newbie and having a boat full of wives and kids to critique my every move, do I manage to attach my anchor to this beast!
:huh::wow::huh:
Got to LOVE lake boating in GA!:smt089:smt089

Just tell them it is fire wood for tonight's fire.(Grin) Seriously be thankful you were able to retrieve your anchor. I bet a person could make a good living retrieving all the anchors that have had to be left on the bottom attached to trees/stumps like that in our GA lakes.

Thats a good catch. :grin:. At first I thought it was a squid. :wow:

Nice wrap with the anchor chain. Impressive! Bet you can't do that twice.

I would attach the critics to that monster and throw them overboard.

Damn! I wouldve s#!t seeing that coming up from the depths! Guess your windlass is working good!

Ok, I am now going to stop complaining about having to clean the mud off of my anchor when I pull it up.

That mud sure is looking better now!

I came up to a guy on Lake Keowee pulling like a bandit with his SR 23 footer. (Didn't get the model). He was stuck with no windlass. I tied to his stern and it took both boats to yank it out. We double wrapped the anchor line around a number of cleats to keep from tearing is boat in half. Finally came loose. Anchor was as clean as could be. A stump no doudt.
