I've spent a lot of time reading up
new and old threads throughout the
site and thought maybe i should share
the essence of the boating experience
here in Spain. Bear in mind i've only
been at it a short time, but i'm
loving every minute of it.
My boat is moored at Moraira, on the
mediterranean, near to the very
eastern tip of the spanish coast.
We never get ice and had only one
snow flurry about 6 years ago - it
didnt settle. So the boats can stay
in the water all year round. we get
around 330 days with sunshine each
year (not necessarily all day) and
its possible to use the boat on maybe
250 of those. Other days the seas or
winds dont allow.
It's a 3 or 4 hour run to the island
of Ibiza from Moraira - not done it
yet but hope to soon.
Here's a picture of the marina.
If anyone is interested i'm happy to
write more...

Kevin,

Looks like a beautiful place, I didn't get a chance to look at all 37K photos :smt043

i cant make the picture thing work in a post, so ive added it to my signature. god willing itll work now.

The photos are beautiful and you sold me on the weather. But docking your boat in that marina, nerve wrecking to say the least. What are all the lines going into the fairway and how do you set them or pick them up. We have it too easy in the US with pilings and finger piers.

Much respect for anyone who can master 3 languages. English, Spanish, and from the captions on the posts German...

Take Care!

Nice pics Kevin, but the link takes us to an album containing 42 thousand photos. Is there a sub album containing the boating pics you referenced?

If you could make it out to Palma de Mallorca, that would be a worthwhile trip. When I was on the USS Kearsarge four years ago, we anchored in the harbor there for a week. What a great time...

Yeah, I saw that too, all of the boats looked like they are rafted up! Get out the BIG fenders.
