If you feel inclined, please take a look at my daughter’s website on Donorschoose.org. As stated on Donorschoose.org, “DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on our site, and you can give any amount to the project that most inspires you.” There is no minimum donation. “You can give as little as $1 and get the same level of choice, transparency, and feedback that is traditionally reserved for someone who gives millions.”

My daughter is requesting resources that will directly support students with speech-language impairments. By supporting this project, you will be providing students access to communication supports and augmentative and alternative means to develop their receptive and expressive communication skills as well as provide them with a means to anticipate upcoming activities, make choices, and ultimately limit unnecessary frustrations. Wow thanks!!! She is well on her way to getting her project funded. Right now they are matching every donation so a $10 donation becomes $20, $25 = $50, etc.Thanks again guys and gals.

Thank you so much to all the individuals who have donated to my project! It means more than I can put into words that people would be so willing to help my classroom and my students! As of now, we only have 618 left to go which is incredible considering the project just went live 48 hours ago! Thank you!

Not yet I think she is down to $500 right now and with only a couple days left on the matching funds she only needs to get $250 to have the project funded. Thanks again for all the help you all have done.

Chuck, I will tell you what my wife asks of me every weekend. "take me boating and where's the wine" she beats her head against the wall every time she needs supplies and resources. Is this her first year teaching? The wife is starting her National Board Cert and in her 10th year and is also teaching student teachers from William & Mary and ODU. Thank you so much. Yes it takes a special person answer the call to teach :) . No she has been working/teaching with the special needs kids for a couple years. This will be her 1st year in this school system. As you can see on the project page it is in a High-Poverty / Rural county in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I was able to have them add the matching promo code after making the donation be contacting them through the online support function. It was quick and easy. I just asked them to add the promo to my donation for the project.
