A/C COOLING LINES

Someone told me that you could put Bromine tablets in the a/c strainer and it would help keep the cooling lines cleaned out ? I have never heard this before and wonder about any side effects ?? Any Thoughts ??

A lot of folks around here do that with very good results. Get the Sloooow release tablets.

I use the 1" tabs and it works very well. If you leave the AC on all of the time you need to add them often. I am about every two weeks.

I've never used them but have read that they can erode the metal baskets.

That was my concern was how much damage it might do to the system the strainers,coils etc....

I've been using 2-3 tablets per week for over 3 years without any damage to the strainer basket
