Today we took our 330 Sundancer from St Simons down to MarineMax in Jacksonville where it is being offered for sale. It was one of those picture-perfect days for a 65 mile jaunt down the ICW. St Andrews Sound was like a lake, unlike the beast it can be.
We cruised at about 32 mph and it was so calm, with so few other boats, that we actually got to enjoy the scenery for a change. We managed to get to St Mary's just as a huge nuclear sub was turning into the channel headed out to sea. We tucked in behind the Navy pilot boat until we turned to starboard towards Fernandina. It was quite a sight!
Then as we approached Jacksonville, we saw this monster tied up to port. It's the Fountainhead, which we later learned is about 250 feet. Wow!
Anyway, it was a spectacular day and we loved every minute of it. Looking forward to many more cruising days ahead in our new boat which we pick up in October.
