I just purchased a 1990 Sea Ray Sundancer 27 in really good shape.. Have to replace one of the Trim tabs which has
been lost last year,, Can't seem to find a Bennett 12 x 12 with the same look.. I'd hate to have to replace both
can someone steer me in the right direction?
Those are Tabs we custom made for SeaRay. In order for us to make a replacement we will need the SeaRay part number for the whole Trim Tab kit they used on the Year and Model. You will need to contact SeaRay for that information. Once we have that information we can look up the manufacturing prints for the Tabs and supply you with pricing and lead time.
The boat looks like it was kept in salt water at some point judging from the bottom paint, but it looks like there were no zinc anodes on the Tabs. This may be why one of them broke off. Particularly if the heads of the screws broke off. If the boat will be kept in the water zinc anodes should be attached to the Tabs.
I sent the numbers to the factory to see if they can look them up for us. In order to see if larger tabs would fit ai need to see a picture of the whole transom to see what room we have. Also need to know if the Tabs have right angle corners or if they are parallelograms.
It would probably be easier for me to just order a stock item ..
Anything 12 inch (Its installed completely to the edge of the hull.. Anything bigger I would have to reposition the wiring etc)
Anything 12 x 12 or 12 x 12 with mounting plate that I can order..? Everything else still works fine
Our standard 12 x 12 has both sides folded up 1". Not sure why SeaRay specified the outboard side as a drop fin, maybe it makes some spray or something without the drop fin. I am pretty sure it will fit right in place of the old one. Part number TPA1212 do a google search or ask your favorite dealer.
Di you lose the actuator lower hing and pin with the Tab? If so the part number for that is A1114.
