Hello all, I'm looking to move my 97 Sea Ray 370 aft cabin from the Pensacola area in the water up the Blackwater Bay 2 the new Marina. The engines are not up and running at this point and I do have a 26 ft twin V8 I/O boat that I will be using to tow this boat. I have towed plenty of boats before however I am unfamiliar with the area, the current, the wind, Etc.
I'm looking for a bit of local knowledge, or even if somebody would want to take the trip.
I'm looking to do this somewhere Within a week to two weeks. Obviously it would be how to calm weather day.

Let me know some thoughts or maybe some different ideas. Yes, I contacted Boat US and Sea Tow and they're wanting to charge me flat rate instead of a membership "dock to dock" tow.

Got this from Boat US, I think, a while back. It’s how I rig for towing and it seems to be one of the safest ways I can think of.

Towing won't be such a problem as docking, why not have Seatow do it?

I spoke to both Sea tow and Tow boat and told them exactly what I was planning to do and they said that it's not covered under membership and they would charge me 275 per hour flat rate at about eight hours or so total.

It's considered "dock to dock". The other thing they both told me is that the boat needs to be in running condition. Seriously?? I very clearly told them both engines were not running at this point. If both engines were running I would need to have it towed! I purchased the boat a few months back, and the marina where it is being stored is absolutely gouging me in storage fees.

You should have just called them when you "broke down" at sea.

Yeah, that's another idea. I tried doing things the right way and giving them a few weeks notice and they're just looking to screw me so maybe I should just "break down".

I wouldn't count on that working out very well since you already called them.
