I have twin 1997 7.4 L MPI engines.
I am wondering if you can receive data from these engines and send it to a multifunction display?
if so what would be required to do this.

Thanks in advance
Chuck

There isn't a whole lot of data to capture from that generation of engines. You can add fuel meters though, which IMO, is the most important data you can monitor.

RollerCoastr,

Thak you for the Info.
I appreciate it.
I have thought about adding flow meters. Do you have a brand or style that you prefer?
I am open to suggestions.

Thanks again
Chuck

I'm a Garmin guy through-and-through. Lowrance's meters cost half as much. Most people agree that Flo-Scans are superior, but they're also MUCH more expensive. Garmin was a logical middle-ground, particularly since I was already heavily invested in Garmin gear and don't plan to move away from them.

I posted a write-up on my project: http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/64256-My-Garmin-fuel-meter-installation

I'm not sure I made it clear in that thread that the fuel displays are actual screen shots from my dash at cruising speeds. I think Garmin does a great job of integrating that data. Garmin MFD's and plotters going back several generations support fuel data display.

I too am a Garmin user. I installed Garmin fuel flow sensors, next step is a Noland RS11 data convertor. I hope to have everything on my dash available on my Garmin 740s .

I like your set up from your thread.
Can I use those with my Raymarine equipment? or do I have to convert everything to Garmin?
