Took the 500 out for the first time this year since we bought the marina back in October and sprung a leak in my port side shifter housing and lost shifting capability on the port side.We removed the port side shifter housing and noticed that the leak is coming from behind a ring with two holes in it. However we couldn't remove the ring. It just doesn't want to unscrew. (I think it is number 5)

The unit was originally built by Hynautic and was called the "s series". From what I can tell the system takes antifreeze and also controls the throttles. I spoke to Searay today and they tell me that teleflex bought out Hynatic. Hopefully they sell a kit to rebuild the shifter housing.

If anyone has any information or knowledge on these units please let me know. I would appreciate it

Thanks in advance
Steve

Ok did a little research and found out that they make a seal kit for the Hynautic shifter. Not sure how quick I can get one or where I can get one from but I also found out that the piece we can't seam to get off is a bushing that often wears out. Now the big questions are how touch it will be to rebuild it once I find the kit and how difficult it is going to be to bleed the system. I think that reservoir controls the shifters as well as the engine sync and throttles.

We had our port throttle go out on a trip to Florida. The mechanic in Charleston SC got the kit from Paxton Co in Virginia. After removing assembly from dash, took him about an hour to rebuild. I think the tool needed is called a spanner wrench. I think to bleed, he removed the cap on hydraulic tank and pumped the throttle back and forth.

We got the port side rebuilt and all is fine with the port now and for some reason we can't get the starboard side to pressurize. We have to be missing something stupid. We remover the bleeder completely and no fluid comes out at all. We even tried to blow air through the lines and can't even get air from the shifter bleeder to the bleeder at the transmission shifter. We have pressurized the tank to 100psi
