we had Erwin Marine do the bottom paint. We did the mechanical stuff ourself.

FINALLY found a socket to fit and we did the spark plugs this past weekend. They were last changed
in 2009. They were in good shape to our surprise. We took it out and got a little more RPM but no highter top
end speed(30-31mph on GPS). We concluded it was the bottom paint and spark plug wires that was probably our original
issue.
We've done all we can as far as annual maintenance and we have our fingers crossed that we have a good trip to Knoxville with no
mechanical issues.

My motors were rebuilt along with the vdrives and the props were tuned. I also have new edelbrock carbs and I can run 5100 WOT, just for a reference. So for carb rebuilds I found it cheaper to buy new edelbrock carbs and you don't have to worry if it was rebuilt right.

Sorry to be the fly in the ointment, but 4K at WOT is not good. Either the problem is not resolved in total or the OP is overpropped by a couple of inches or so.
