I've read that most boats run the most economiclly at 3000-3500 rpm. This is a new boat to me, I had it out once before winter. My old boat was a 90 Regal Velocity 230 w/ 454 Mag. Velocity was easy to tell if on plane, had to be going at least 20 mph. This cruiser is hard for me to tell if on plane. I think 3000 rpm was about 18 mph. Would love to hear feedback on people with this setup. Velocity was a hotrod, this boat isn't, I'm just going to chill & cruise at most economical setting, my get there in a hurry days our over. speed doesn't matter, just want to find out most efficient speed & rpm combo. thx for any feedback.

I have the same boat and engine. I also have AC and a generator (added weight). I cruise at 3200rpm at about 23mph GPS.....any lower rpms and I fall off plane. I have a
bravo 2 with a stainless 18 3/4 X 19p prop. Put your boat info in your signature ( see mine).....and welcome to CSR.

I don't have a picture of my boat yet. It looks like yours except it has burgundy trim, instead of blue. It doesn't have the wide stripe, it has two narrow stripes (I think). It has the built in A/C, but no generator. I'm 95% sure my prop is the same as yours. I did order a fuel flow gauge, which is on backorder, to give me an idea of cruising range, & gallons per hour of operation. I had calculated this on my Velocity by filling tank at the end of the season to pickle it for winter. Write down the hour gauge reading, then keep track of all fuel put in thru the summer, then fill again to put away for winter. It averaged 6 gallons per hour every summer. I expect this boat to use more, but I'm curious as to how much more. (I need to figure out how to modify my signature, but I'll probably wait until I get a picture)

I estimate I burn about 12-13 gph cruising at 3200rpm. To modify your sig. go to "UserCP" at the top right of the page.

Would you happen to know what Gear ratio is in your
Bravo 2?

not off hand...I will check my manuals & paperwork.

gear ratio is 2:1
