I have a 1991 Sea Ray 170 bowrider with a five blade High Five prop. I am thinking about putting a wakeboard tower on my boat. I am just wondering if anyone can give me there input about how the boat might perform with a wakeboard tower? It pulls a wakeboarder very well now with the stock hookup. Even with 7 people in the boat and one on the rope it does well. The Hig Five prop is awesome. I am really new at all this. This is my 1st boat. It is in great shape and was well maintaned.

I am looking at a AERIAL UNIVERSAL WAKEBOARD TOWER right now on e-bay but I havent bid yet.

Pics of similar boats with towers would be awesome.

Do you think the tower would add to the resale when I decide to sell and upgrade?
Thanks

I have a 1999 Sea Ray 210 BR. I added a wakeboard tower last year and I think they are great. I personally don't wakeboard much but my kids do and they love it.

You can get out of the water easier and you can get more air with less effort. The boat should pull a wakeboarder easier with it than without it.

Whether is adds value or not is a tough call. I think it depends on who is looking at it (when you go to sell it) and what their wants are. I do think they are getting more popular and that has to be and advantage more than a disadvantage.

I went with a MT2 Monster Tower. I have been VERY happy. The customer support is absolutely awesome. The tower installed easily and folds quickly.

A friend just bought the Aerial tower you mentioned. I helped with the installation of it. I think it is harder to install then the Monster tower. It is a tube through tube design and doesn't adjust as easily. We tried to "dry fit " his together and scratched the hell out of his tubes sliding them in and out.

I do like the looks of the Aerial tower, it looks a little more modern and more like an OEM style (just my .02) But as far as ease of installation and folding I would say the Monster Tower is better.

I have a 2005 220 Select. We put a Lightning tower on our. We had it custom built and powdered coated to match. I am 6'5" tall and I can stand under the speakers. We love it. It makes getting up way easier.

Thanks. It has a 2000 watt complete Wetsounds system. 1000 for the tower and 1000 in the boat. It has the wetsounds EQ with mic. It works very well and is extremely loud when needed. Never runs at full potential.

I have all wetsounds speakers in the boat as well. I have 6 -650s and a ws12. I was planning on getting the 3 some in a few weeks but the wifey and I are now expecting again so my $3k upgrade will most likely be waiting until next season. I ordered an Aerial universal tower and will be installing next week. I'll post-up some pics once its done. If you search for Hydrotunes upgrade you will see my in boat install. The only difference is I have since changed the ARC audio 12 for a Wetsouds 12.

Hand plans to put the 3 some with the Syn4 amp, ws420 eq and full led kit on all speakers. At least I got the tower and new board/bindings setup prior to the big news.

Congratulation on the news. Good Luck to you and your wife.
