My '92 270 Weekender is equipped with the pump out porta potti option. I am considering installing and electric flush head (Jabsco Quiet Flush, Dometic MF7120 or Raritan Sea Era QC) with a holding tank. I am unable to find another of this model equipped with a holding tank to verify the location of a factory installed holding tank. It appears that the Sundancer line might be installed in the engine compartment on the starboard side. With the Weekender and absence of aft cabin there are lots of options in the basement but I want it in the factory location if I do the upgrade. I am on an inland lake so pump out is the only option and for multiple reasons I will not install a Vacuflush system in this boat.
Anyone have direct knowledge of the location of the tank?

Check page 15/6 part #D-58.

Edit: Crazy, that's the first one of those parts manuals I've seen with prices.

Thanks for sending the link to the parts list. The previous owner had printed it and sent it with the boat but I never thought to look there. I think one could assume that it is in the same location as the Sundancer model.

My 92 300DA has the holding tank on the port side next to the fuel tank with the water heater in the back corner. That drawing is quite a bit different. But the drawings for mine are different from the actual layout.

Something to ponder... where Sea Ray put it means absolutely nothing as to where you wnat to put it. Put it in whatever spot makes the most sense to you, thinking of... ease of install while at the same being out of the way as possible so as not to get in the way while working in the bilge.

Being in the "Sea Ray" location will have absolutely no impact on resale. Where it makes the most sense TO YOU is all that matters.

On my '91 Weekender 250 the tank is located in the lazerette or compartment below the helm on the starboard side. It butts up to the wall where my head is located.

That would be the most logical location since the pump out fitting is already on the starboard side.

I like the fact that mine is pump out only and if it brakes its 200 dollars to replace and as simple as picking the old one replacing and locking it back down with the latches. I installed a new head with all the bells and whistles once don't want to do that again.

In the final analysis I have decided to go back with a pump out porta potty as you describe. I caught one on sale at West Marine and will be under $200 total with brackets and fittings. The reality is that the heads on my boats never get used and this solution was a $1000 less. If the use changes I'll address a that time.
