89 Sea Ray 180 Questions??

Hi all! I've just purchased a 89 sea ray 180 in o.k. shape for a good price. Question is the mid floor around ski locker is rotted. Would I be better off replacing wood and carpet or fiberglass the whole floor?

I had similar project years ago. I saturated old floor with resin and once cured installed new marine 1/2" plywood on top of old floor and covered it with fiberglass and resin. New carpet and was done. It may be not correct way, but took only 2 days to do it and was inexpensive.

would that stop the old wood from still rotting? Or did you replace bad wood then cover?

just removed what fell apart in hands and saturated rest with resin. it was quick fix because boat wasn't worth to spend too much time and money

Thanks! That was kinda like I was thinking. Only gave $500 for the boat and all. The motor alone is worth more.
