Hello,
I finally bought a boat! She's a 21 foot Seville Cuddy. Mechanically she's solid. The only things I have are upholstery issues and flooring.
How important is it to fix the flooring? There is some rot by the cabi n entry. Also, the engine cover has been replaced by a wooden box, will sufice, I guess as I can't find another. How can I reattach the side pads? Had the bilge replaced last week, which Ws my only real mechanical concern.
If anybody has tips or advice, feel free to let me know.
Thanks,
Neffc

Welcome to CSR
where you at in Indiana ??
the floor rot IMO is important to fix but can be a big can-o-worms to open
by advise ...get it structurally sound and mechanically dependable and enjoy it
the pretty stuff can come later

I'm in Bloomington. I put the Bimini top on this weekend. She been running really well for the first few times out. A little trouble starting, bit I found what was draining the battery so OT shouldn't be an issue once I jump it next time. The battery is new, so the alternator should recharge the battery while I run her right? Whoever had it before me wired the radio to the bilge switch so the power to the radio is always on. I has a bilge pump with a float installed so I pull the switch fuse at the end of operation for the day. The float switch is wired direct to the battery so if it rains a ton she'll auto pump it out. Oil change too when I got the new bilge pump installed.

You would be better served to charge the battery on a 10A setting
when the alternator hits it at full amperage you never get that long deep charge
that the battery needs to come to full charge

just stick a car battery charger on and let it go a day or 2
most will shut off when the battery is at a full state of charge

Hi....That battery needs a good charge and not one that you will get from jumping it. I posted earlier(different forum) about the floors and stringers in these models and you might want to get the structure updated and the wiring before all the pretty stuff. Good boats but require good maintenance.
