I can't seem to find any info on this motor or boat for that matter, can anyone help. It's not charging and I need a good quality service manual. Can anyone help me out???? And oh yea I also need a prop or two, going to be running this boat on a slow moving river at first and then we are moving to upstate NY near Irondiqoit Bay so I need an all round prop for pulling 1 skier or a tube. Thanks for any help.

SeaRay Web site

I swear I tried that first but I guess not. Found it thanks.

Anybody out there have or had an 88 Seville SeaRay with a 100 HP OB I think the motor is a Merc, am I right? Well I am having some problems with the charging system and need a manual that can help me diagnose the problem. The Stator seems to be putting out voltage but I am not sure where the voltage is regulated. Thanks for any help

I had one and it is supposed to be a Merc, but I never had to work on it-it was a great boat. You can probably find a manual like SELOC (Spelling) at any local, larger book store, West Marine, Boaters World or Boat US store. You can also get these kinds of manual online. Good luck with the fix-I hope it is simple.

Sea Ray Charging Problem

Thanks for your help, I should of had it looked at in the off season. Anybody know an honest repair shop in the Western Chicago Suberbs?

I also owned a '88 Seville with the same engine and had a similar problem. My boat mechanic solved the problem with a "rebuilt" (around $200), printed circuit board that controls the alternator, timing, etc. Be advised the alternator doesn't produce a lot of output--just enough to recharge the battery. Those boats traditionally don't use a lot of electrical power--starter, running lights, stereo and perhaps a fish-finder. The ammeter may show only 14 V--that would be a normal charging rate.
