I feel silly for asking but would someone look at their weekender and tell me where the drain hose from the cabin entry step down goes? Mine simply has a hose that drains right into the bilge (front bilge pump area) I know that cannot be right. Even the Bayliners I've owned, drain that water out a thru-hull.

Yes. On my 88 Sundancer (yes, I have both) the step is real close to the side so is a short route out the side but the Weekender step is dead center.

Yep, Thats where mine is too. Just don't care for that very much. Especially since that float switch quit working.

I remember holding my nephew by the ankles while he changed out my float switch about ten years ago. Not easy to access for an average sized adult.

I have a 89 300 and the drain is in the same location. Surveyor pointed it out when I bought the boat and suggested running a new line and putting a drain in the starboard side in front of the fuel tank. Hasn't happened yet. Seems like SeaRay would have come up with a better solution.

On my 86 300DB, the step down to the cabin drains to the forward engine bay bilge and the channel that goes around my engine bay access doors drain overboard on each side.

I find i have to keep an eye on the step down drain to keep it from getting plugged and filling the step up, then draining into the cabin.
