I am trying to remove the engine in my seville and the clymer shop manual i have doesnt do a very good job of showing where the rear engine mount is. i see the front and how u remove it from the floor of the boat, but i cant see the rear one. does it look the same as front. kind of hard to see the back side of motor. i dont want to mess up alignment so i want to be cautious on what i remove. if anyone can show me a good pic of it or give some info like how many bolts hold it in. in pic in manual it shows one, but im scared to remove that because of alignment. or is the front one the only one that controls alignment.

Sorry, I don't know about the rear mount but I was wondering if you could tell me where I might locate a shop manual for an 86 or 87 Searay Seville bowrider. My problem is that I just bought the boat and I've never owned one before so am trying to figure out whats the best way to learn about all the mechanical/electrical features of the boat. Actually, I'm not even sure of the year the boat was built and the exact length. I think it may be a 16.5' or maybe a 18'. Haven't found any kind of ID plate yet. It has a 3.0 liter Mercruser Alpha 1 inboard/outboard. I found that I need a new alternator belt, but it looks like the front motor mount must be removed to change it (poor design in my opinion). I don't know the correct method for doing this....not sure how to support the engine while loosening the motor mount. I certainly don't want to damage anything. Have you ever changed out this particular belt?

mount

i would like the answer to that rear mount question too......

another question: when removing the engine do you remove the mount from the boat or do you remove the motor from the mount?
