Would anyone mind taking a couple of close up pics or sending links of their sliding, side window assembly on a 86~89 300 Weekender, may be the same as a Sundancer.
The PO gloobed these all up with silicone. I want to gut, clean and reinstall with fresh rubber but I think there may be some hardware missing.
And, Is the sliding portion supposed to be plexi or glass?

Thanks in advance,

I've got an '88 230 Weekender with the sliding windows, I could snap a few pics of that if you needed. You looking for inside, outside or both?

I'll try to remember to take some pics this weekend. I need to measure mine to get an idea how much gasketing I need to do both sides and also if it matches the samples Taylor sent me.

can get some this weekend .i rebuilt mine over winter, what do you think is missing?

Thanks for the offers guys, but it ocurred to me that I have another 1988 model 300 (Sundancer though, same windows)down the road waiting on a couple of parts. I could simply look at that one.

The last owner really did a hack job on these things. I would assume the windows started leaking. So what des he do, fills the tracks up with silicone! The sliding part, or the part that used to slide, from one end to the other has about an inch of siicone. Going be a PIA to get out.

The parts that were removed, for whatever reason, are the 6" pieces of aluminum that fit on the ends of the sliding pieces, which, I would imaging is the seal that keeps water from coming in between the two pieces of plexi.

Oh, and yes, It leaks into the boat as he siliconed over the drain slots.

To fix it properly you are gonna wanna remove the entire frame assembly and repair. Then you can reinstall the entire unit. I bought new vertical pieces from taylormade.com. Dan

Sorry to hijack this thread but it is relevant.

To those guys who have done this job.... How long did it take from start to finish per side, how much $$$$ did you spend and finally can it be done with the boat in the water ?

Cheers
