Not a good weekend to be out on the ocean. We are expecting 8 to 11 foot seas on Sunday in the NY/NJ area. I saw one forcast that was calling for 20ft seas furhter up the New England coast line.

I wouldnt want to be deep sea fishing this weekend.

Guys... what site are you going to that is predicting seas? I am leaving for Greenport (staying inland completly) on Monday. I am hoping things calm down by then! :smt009

Saturday
West winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 feet. Bay and inland waters a light chop. Isolated thunderstorms.

Google "NOAA MARINE WEATHER" click on your area and there it is.

-weather.com
-enter your desired zip code at the top
-when your weather "Right Now" comes up, just to the right is a drop down box. Select BOAT AND BEACH
- the yellow bar above has several choices. For the most detailed, choose your day and select HOUR BY HOUR. I rely heavily on the "percent chance of rain" if I need to get somewhere before the weather hits.

Here's what they're saying for us on Sunday. We're on the bay so waves aren't that impt unless we're going out. But even then, wind speed and direction are key to determining what the North Atlantic may bring.
