8.1 Wires ???

I ordered and installed the Volvo Penta set for mine. Exact fit, exact same ends, etc. just did it 2 weeks ago.

part number 3861295 for $100.

Were the wires Blue or Black. Mine say Ac Delco right on them.
 
I also used the Volvo Penta version. Volvo Penta wires are black and have Volvo Penta written on them. I started a thread some about this time last year on the wires.

I did order a couple of spare sets from MM afterwards - can't remember the part number at the time but I have copied details of your link below - see if the Mercruiser part number they list matches with the Mercruiser part number. The ones I ordered from MM have AC Delco written on them and also have inboard or outboard written on them just like the original wires.

I got the wires from MM. They are not the same...The boot is 45* and the wires say Crusader on them! Mine are 90*. The part # on the bag is 120019. This is the set I ordered. What set says AC Delco on them? I'll have to call monday I guess.

can get you the sierra set for less straight boot for a regular dist cap or the crab cap style

I'm looking for the AC DELCO wires for 8.1 coil packs. The original wire says inboard outboard ac Delco right on them.
 
Not sure I understand. You have the 8.1 Merc with the 8 individual coils? The link to what you purchased, your wires don't look like that?

No they look like this. Each one is separate without the tie. The boot is not really 90*. and the wires SAY Crusader on them. I thought the wires you guys got from MM SAID Ac Delco Inboard Outboard right on them like the original.
EDIT.. I just went down to the bilge and looked at how they will fit. I think they will fit OKAY. I don't know the lengths of them since I didn't open the pack, but the ends looks like they will fit. I don't know..

I didn't purchase Crusader ones, I purchased the Volvo ones which are exactly what you need. The clips that hold them together easily come off the old set to be reused. If you pull 2 wires at a time you can attach the clips to the two new wires using the old ones as the template. It took me 30 minutes to swap mine and they fit exactly the same.

Yea I can do the clips no problem. The Volvo look the same also?? Just says Volvo on them. MM has them listed to fit all..If you even look close at the picture the wires say on them Inboard Outboard. They have the little coil sign on them and have the little tab on the coil pack side boot.( cant see from this picture)

Yes. Volvo says Volvo Penta on them. I ordered from a different vendor, OEM VP wires.
 
I ordered 3861295 from CECIL Marine. $104 plus $7 shipping or so.
