hello i have a 340 sundancer with two 8.1 horizons in it, the boat is in florida and has not been started for 2 months, I started the boat up and it was running nicely when the port engine just shut off after running for 3min. When i tried to restart the engine would not restart just crank. any ideas

Afraid I would have to begin with the typical "no start" checklist...keys on, switches on, neutral trans, no safety switches triggered. Then go to fuel, fire and air...pull a spark plug wire and confirm spark...lightly spritz the flame arrestor with starting fluid (if it starts, its a fuel problem). If it isn't fuel, and isn't fire, and nothing was clogging the flame arrestor, then compression test is the next step. However, I am thinking that with a name like yours, you have already done these steps...

Thanks for the reply, do these boats have anything electrical like a crank sensor that would permit it not to start, the boat tech is coming to check it out, because i have no tools i live in a different state , where can i buy the manuals for this boat for repair and the scan tool thanks again for your help,

A real mechanic may chime in here, but I don't think we have crankshaft sensors or anything like that...I was amazed to find there was no mass airflow sensor. I think the fuel injection is pretty basic by automotive standards.

There is a pretty good manuals thread http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1742 but most of them for your boat are up and current on the Sea Ray website. I am not sure where you get a scan tool...eBay maybe?
